The budget of 'blinded by the light' was budgeted for around $15 million. This films was developed by Bend It Network and was declared a low budget film. The main contributors which helped fund this film was the two companies: Levantine films and ingenious media. These two are fairly big companies with levantine films being a company that is an independent production company that has had major successes with hidden figures specifically within 2016. overall, they have more or less grossed around $230 million in the worldwide box office. Following this i mentioned that there was also another company which helped the funding of this film that goes by the name of ingenious media. This is a little less known that levantine films as they tend to fund small companies who they see a future potential of profit which they saw was the case with this film due to its wide variety of ethnic casting, change of typical setting, a unique storyline and a sense of nostalgia to attract the generation x. Finally the other funding income came from the BFI which is a large conglomerate within the U.K that uses lottery funding in order to Support smaller or original film ideas. Overall, Blinded by the light had spent $15 million and have gained a revenue of $18133756 which in perspective is a profit of $3 million however most of this had to go back to the companies that help fund the film therefore leading to the argument that they might have actually lost more money in this film than they have gained from it.
