 1) Write a one-sentence definition of what makes a film British.

A key factor that makes a film 'British'  is that it has been approved by the bbfc.

2) What is the difference between a Hollywood production context and production context of a British film?

The main difference between a Hollywood production and a British film production is the size and scope of the production. Hollywood productions tend to have larger budgets and more resources, which allows for more elaborate sets, special effects, and higher-paid actors. British film productions, on the other hand, tend to be more independent and have smaller budgets, which may lead to a more minimalist approach to filmmaking.Hollywood productions are more focused on box office success, whereas British films focus more on representation of reality.



3) When did the James Bond franchise start?

It originally started in 1962 The first film released was titled 'dr no' and is now one of the film 'classic as this is what caused the film to erupt into the franchise it is today. Since then they have managed to produce over 25 new films within the franchise which have all been huge blockbuster films and is now something that fan bases wait for.This is a major acomplishment and means that it is close to impossible for the franchise to fail.

In the 1970s and 1980s, British film began to push the boundaries of censorship and graphic content. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) started to relax its censorship rules, which allowed for more explicit violence, sex, and language in British films. Additionally, the introduction of video cassette recorder (VCR) and later home video players, allowed for more flexibility in the distribution of films and as a result, made it easier for controversial films to reach a wider audience, bypassing the traditional censorship process.

5) What groups are often represented in British film? Give examples of films these groups feature in.
British film has traditionally represented a diverse range of groups and cultures. However, certain groups have been underrepresented or misrepresented in the past.The representation of ethnic minorities in British film has been limited in the past, but has improved in recent years with films like Bend it like Beckham Anotyher typical group represented is working-class characters and communities, often depicted in films about social issues and class struggles.
